Coleman Coolers, An American Heritage
Coleman coolers are as American as apple pie and Nascar. Coleman coolers have been found on every camping outing I have been on my entire life, and I am 39 years old now. Why are Coleman coolers so popular? Affordability is the number one reason, and durability would have to come in a close second, I have three Coleman coolers in my garage right now, each one a different size for different outings.
Don’t believe me? Just go to any campground and take a look around. I am betting that you will find that at least 50% of the campers have a Coleman cooler with them on their camp out. And if they don’t have a Coleman cooler at their camp…just ask them about it, more than likely you will hear that they have several at home for different functions.
Since their inception, Coleman has become synonymous with camping and camping gear. Coleman stoves are the most popular brand of camping stove their has ever been, and likely ever will be! Coleman tents are functional, durable, and affordable. In fact, most campgrounds are full of Coleman tents for just these reasons. Coleman sleeping bags are also very, very popular in the camping world. However, Coleman sleeping bags are made for mostly moderate temperatures, there are a few models for colder expeditions, but other brands have targeted the extreme weather aspects of sleeping bags.
Coleman Coolers are not only found in campgrounds and upriver though. Go to any tailgate party and you will see the name Coleman literally everywhere. Beaches are also a very popular place to find a Coleman cooler and plenty of people having a terrific time. My favorite spot to take a Coleman cooler is up the Chetco River in southern Oregon. Countless beverages have been kept cold in my Coleman coolers!
My personal Coleman coolers have lasted well over a decade. This is one of the biggest advantages to buy Coleman products, they are durable. Many Coleman products actually last a lifetime. There is a lot to be said for a product that lasts so long and is so affordable in this economy! It absolutely breaks my heart when I see someone using a disposable styrofoam cooler, what a waste of money, and bad for our environment as well!
